US Customs Service P-3 Orion - N146CS

This is quite the plane.

The Lockheed Electra has always been a favorite of mine ever since I flew cross-country on them a couple of times in the sixties. I'm always particularly amazed by the essentially "blown" wings, as much of the wing-span is covered by the propeller slip-stream.

A note about the photographs: if a thumbnail picture is a link, clicking on it will load an image approximately 500x300 pixels large (~60Kb). Under some thumbnails is the word "huge". Clicking there will load the original scanned image of about 800x500 pixels at JPEG 75% quality (~200Kb).
